Having graduated with an MBA and Master's Degree of Law at the University of Copenhagen and an MFA from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, Lars Sylvest co-formed Brass Hat Films which invested in motion pictures distributed by Disney, 20th Fox, Sony, MGM, Lionsgate and DreamWorks.

In 2005 he financed and co-formed Hyde Park International with Ashok Amritraj. To date, the company has sold and co-financed over 35 motion pictures, incl. Premonition (Sandra Bullock), Ghost Rider 2 (Nicolas Cage), Blue Valentine (Ryan Gosling) and Death Sentence (James Wan).

Parallel to his other activities, Sylvest launched Senator Global Productions with Senator/Wild Bunch in 2012. The partnership resulted in projects such as The Danish Girl.
